JEnny Hatch

Jenny brings over 15 years of experience leading conservation work, in collaboration with diverse partners, to serve as the Sierra Nevada Alliance (SNA) Executive Director and a member of the Sierra CAMP leadership team. Raised in the Sierra, Jenny is pleased to lead SNA in fulfilling its mission to protect and restore the natural resources of the Sierra Nevada for future generations while promoting sustainable communities. As part of the leadership team, her goal is to encourage continued Sierra-wide climate partnerships and collaborations for the improvement of the Sierra Nevada for all.

Kelly Cruce

Kelly is the Program Director for Spatial Informatics Group - Natural Assets Laboratory where she is supporting Tribes across the country to implement geospatial tools for managing resources, ecosystem services, as well as carbon conservation and offset methodologies. Kelly is also a climate change adaptation consultant and wildlife ecologist. She has worked with the preeminent Georgetown Law University Climate Center for over eight years - supporting their adaptation initiatives through research and program development. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a BS in Biology, Kelly accrued over 15 years of field research focused solely on threatened and endangered wildlife populations and has directed the successful funding of many critical projects to protect endangered species. Kelly has settled in the high Sierras of Plumas County, California and works on wildlife conservation and climate adaptation projects locally.

Chris Mertens

Chris has more than 10 years experience in the government affairs, legislative advocacy, and campaign arenas from his work as Legislative Consultant and registered lobbyist for a Sacramento lobbying firm specializing in environmental policy and his recent position as Associate Environmental Planner with the California Tahoe Conservancy.  His experience revolves particularly around the issues of climate change, natural resource conservation, clean energy, alternative transportation, and sustainable communities. Chris received his B.A. in Political Science, with a History minor, from UC Davis.

Nikki Caravelli

Nikki is a Sierra Nevada local, born in Truckee and raised on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. She has two and a half years of experience in climate change planning, policy, and coordination. Following her 11 month CivicSpark Americorps term in 2016-2017, she joined Sierra Business Council full time as a Climate Technician and Project Manager for Sierra CAMP. Nikki coordinates the day-to-day activities of Sierra CAMP and also supports SBC’s Government Affairs in state policy tracking and advocacy coordination. She graduated in June 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and a concentration in Environmental Studies from Williams College.
